Euthanasia in Wildlife Rehabilitation

This interactive course examines humane euthanasia in wildlife rehabilitation contexts, beginning with an exploration of the role of euthanasia as it relates to the goals of wildlife rehabilitation and tenets of animal welfare. Topics covered include detailed explanations of mechanisms and methods of euthanasia; ideal qualities of agents of euthanasia; acceptable (and unacceptable) methods of euthanasia for specific species; and assessment of situations, diseases, and injuries that indicate euthanasia in wildlife patients.
