Diagnostics like bloodwork and fecal testing are essential for evaluating the health problems facing our wild patients. In this three-part course, Licensed Veterinary Technician (and Hospital Manager) Jess Ransier introduces basic preparation and interpretation of wildlife diagnostics. Topics covered include Parasitology, Hematology, and Cytology, with special consideration given to the resources and skills available to wildlife rehabilitators. Attendees learn to recognize the most common problems identified through these diagnostic evaluations and how they affect patient species incongruently. This course comprises three distinct lectures and includes reference resources, printable guides, and additional materials.
This course takes two and a half to three hours to complete.
